And I have only one machine i. I shall try re installing the software from Sify and see if it works. Just plug your sify cable into the router and call sify customer care and ask them to register that lan cards mac addess they allow 2 on one connection so your laptop will still work if connected directly to sify cable It will not take more then one hour for them to let you use your router. Give it a try coz I have 3 computers and two sify accounts and I am able to use one account on two comps after calling them.
Hope I made some sense here. Thanks for the reply. Hi All I called up the Sify customer care and told them that I will be using 2 machines for accessing the internet. They told me that they will open the access for new LAN card registeration and I can login after an hour. I logged in using my wireless router after an hour. I re-entered my password and logged in again and since then it has been working perfectly fine.
Thanks alot for the help. Good to hear that your problem is sorted. I have recently bought the same router and I am having problems dialing into Sify. I am able to fix the MAC address problem. As you are aware, the support from Sify and their service is pathetic.

Log on in the wired mode to the Netgear router. I do keep coming back to check this forum. They asked me to connect the broadband cable to the router and tell them the message thats coming up on the pc I asked him about what message is supposed to come up and he himself was not sure.
He told me that they will get some kind of an indication at their end that the new mac id is connected to my sify account and only then they can add it to my login. I'm totally lost here. Could any of you please tell me how you got your router mac id registered at sify. Its not as complicated as you think it is Shamjithrp, All that means is connect sify cable to the computer and start sify client and you will get an error message saying the machine is not registered with sify.
Then call sify customer care and they will have a record of the mac address of your new lan card and they will register it for you and this process should nor mally take less then an hour. Any more problems? Regards Parminder. Originally Posted by Admin.
